The buildings which accommodate people experiencing medical conditions much be equally serviceable for staff and welcoming for relatives as they are comforting for residents. Our proposal is a conventional ‘shell-and-core’ tenant improvement for both a clinic and a psychiatry office.
The plan creates legible circulation throughout. A large waiting area creates a comfortable environment from which visitors can access a generous reception area and wide corridors that establish a consistent sense of orientation - something often lacking in standard clinics.
The bed / sitting rooms and consultation rooms are laid out around a continuous corridor and face generous windows that allow ample daylight and natural ventilation. Timber is used to respond to sustainable needs, and avoid an institutional environment.
